What You Will Learn

Bullying is serious. But so is misidentifying ordinary conflict as bullying — or missing real bullying because it doesn't fit the pattern you expect.

When we treat every peer dispute as bullying, we rob children of the opportunity to develop the conflict resolution skills they'll need throughout their lives. When we fail to recognize genuine bullying, we leave targeted children unprotected and allow harmful power dynamics to take hold.

This course helps you draw the critical distinction. You'll learn what bullying and ordinary conflict actually have in common, where they differ, and how to recognize the key markers that distinguish one from the other in your specific setting.

You'll also explore the real consequences of misdiagnosis — for the children involved, for your program, and for the relationships and trust you're trying to build — and leave with practical strategies for responding appropriately to each situation.
