Why Our Courses

  • Debbie Ausburn has been a foster parent and a stepparent. She never had biological children, but she has collected seven children and ten grandchildren.

  • Amber Jewell grew up in foster care herself and has served as a caseworker and foster and adoptive parent.  She's now a licensed senior clinical social worker in a school system.

  • Donna Caudell spent more than 22 years as a school counselor, so she knows exactly what it looks like to help children from hard places.

  • Gena Hood spent 30 years in schools, including nine as a principal, and has sat across the table from more struggling families than she can count.

  • Tom Rawlings spent decades as a juvenile court judge and a state child welfare director, watching what happens to children when families like yours don't get the support they need.

This team built the training because they needed it and couldn't find it, not because they studied your situation from the outside.

What You'll Learn

• Why a child who tests every limit you set isn't always rejecting you. They may just be finding out whether you'll leave.

• How commitment works differently than love, and why that difference matters on the hardest days.

• How to become the mentor in your child's story instead of the villain, whether that story started with removal, adoption, or a family that split apart.

• How to move from reacting to a hard moment to understanding what's actually happening inside it.
